Baltic Culture Fund promotes cultural cooperation between Baltic States, in order to strengthen the internationalisation of Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian culture through joint cultural events. Grants are distributed once a year.

Curated by the Cultural Endowment of Estonia, the Baltic Culture Fund has issued the grants for 2020 round of application. A total of 300,000 euros were allocated to joint cultural projects involving the Baltic countries. In total 8 projects were supported in the fields of performing arts, literature, architecture and design.

The 25th instalment of the WOMEX – famous for its international reach and the diversity of its musical acts – will take place in Finland on 23-27 October. The five-day event will present acts ranging from authentic folklore to unusual experimental music. For the first time this year, the Baltic states will host a joint pavilion at this international gathering as well as concerts from each of the countries.

In January, Helle Engslund Krarup, the Chief of Staff of the Secretary General’s Office and Kertu Saks, the chairwoman of the Cultural Endowment of Estonia signed an agreement for a contribution of 750,000 Danish krone or 100,000 euros to the Baltic Culture Fund to organise joint cultural events from the Baltic states in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
